I was thinking about using heat shrink tubing or thread wrapping the wire in place and using epoxy like wrapping a guide but as you said the wire will likely get all bent up. May be able to just bend it back but idk what a shark is gonna do to these things just yet. I gotta get something to chew on em for me . I may try out some heat shrink tubing on the first one I try but gotta wait on payday to pick some up. It'll surely look better . The one in the pic's was made in like 2 min just screwing around with the idea. Maybe I'll try heavy mono instead of wire? Wouldnt get as bent up but may get bitten through. Just gotta get something to chew em up, and we'll see ya know? But I gotta work till Fri.

no doubt they will work. They may be a one time shot(if you get a shark) but the whole purpose is if you dont get hit while your cranking it back in you dont get hung up. if you have a fish who cares ?

EXACTLY what I was thinking! If and when I hook up I dont think Id care what happens to the weedguard it did its job :D besides its just 6-8in of wire and a couple tight wraps of electrical tape (so far) I can fix them on the sand if need be. Although, I can get heat shrink tubing very cheap so I may grab some payday. Presby12, I told you "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED" 8-)   I plan on getting them in testing as soon as possible!
